The oval shape is both attractive and often practical, giving a bit of extra room. Choose from the smaller 3 1/2 Quart Wide Oval Dutch Oven or the larger 6 3/4 Quart Wide Oval Dutch Oven (for longer roasts, soups, chili).

With high quality cast iron and flawless enamel, these purple pots are easy to use.  They're great for slow-cooking on the stovetop, roasting in the oven, and serving delicious feasts.  For best results, cook on low to medium-low heat - the cast iron will heat slowly and evenly, providing a regular temperature across the bottom of the pot for easy cooking.  Even heat from all sides also means natural seasoning and food flavors get a better chance to blend.  The light tan interior is durable and non-reactive, preserving nutrients in your food and providing years of durable wear.  These Le Creuset purple cast iron pots are easy to clean - just wipe down or lightly scrub the interior and exterior (avoid steel wool or other metal scrub brushes) or toss it in the dishwasher.
