The Purple Hat Gang by Judith Kristen
Whether you're coming of age now in the 6th, 7th or 8th grade, or you came of age 10, 20, 50 years ago - this book will find a permanent place in your heart and on your bookshelf. While times definitely change, the common problems that teens - family, money, first crushes - remain the same. This book is a comfort and joy to read, and a great reminder that friendship strengthens and heals when it is called upon.

REVIEWS
1961. For those of us who actually remember teenage life back then, this book will bring a huge smile to your face. To those who weren't around at that time, it's a joyful trip to a period in America that everyone lovingly called "Camelot." The Purple Hat Gang is about the strength one derives from good, healthy friendships. It's also about heartache, teen angst, first love, parental difficulties, abuse, adoption, loyalty, compassion and kindness... it's all in there. My friend, Ev, read it three times! (could there be a 4th?) Buy a copy for yourself and your best friend.
Nostalgia IS what it used to be!

You will meet a group of girls who are not only dealing with the same issues we face today, but also becoming young women and choosing to make a positive difference in each other's lives and in the world around them. These "Doers of good deeds, masters of our fate and captains of our souls". It's nice to be reminded that kindness and respect toward those around us is possible.
