Purple Wedding Gown Designs - Designer Requirements***NOTE*** Designers, Seamstresses, Costumers - The Purple Store Announces its Call for Purple Wedding Gown DesignsSEATTLE, WA -- 22 June, 2005 -- Planning a purple wedding is hard! Many brides and grooms eventually have to settle for lavender or lilac with white or a complimentary color, or give in entirely to traditional colors. The Purple Store is all about enabling purple fans to have their wedding in their favorite color. The Purple Store currently has purple bridesmaids’ gowns, do-it-yourself purple reception décor, purple wedding shoes, purple wedding accessories … but what’s missing? A perfect Purple Wedding Gown! The Purple Store is now inviting independent, experienced costumers and dress designers to submit their unique wedding gown designs here. Purple Store customers will vote on the top designs this Fall. When the votes are finalized in November, the selected wedding gowns will be available for custom order through The Purple Store. Submission DeadlinePlease try to submit all designs by October 15, 2005. We'd like to get your designs and information out there during the Big Commercial Season so that you can benefit from the Purple Wedding Gown Search whether or not your design(s) are selected. We will begin soliciting customer feedback at the end of October and will take feedback into mid-December. Our intention is to have the wedding gown designs selected and available for 2006 wedding planning. Design Submission - 3/4 Dress Form, Photographs or Sketches?Please consider submitting a 3/4 dress form of your design - dress forms and even photographs of a 3D form are easier for lay people to judge than sketches. (Thank you, Loyce of Sharazi for this wonderful suggestion!) If you are submitting sketches rather than photographs, please include photographs of similar work done. Submit forms and swatches to: Requirements for Designer Submissions:Design SelectionThe Purple Store's customers will be providing feedback on all designs from October through mid-December. If your design is selected, your Responsibilities will include: Pricing your Design(s)The Purple Store will retain a $10 handling fee and 5% of the sale (before shipping and handling fees) on selected design(s), so please consider this when pricing your design(s). Prices direct from the designer and prices at The Purple Store must remain the same, so our customers are not penalized for buying from us. Price changes are OK, just please keep us in the loop! Please include pricing for all of the following: Selected Design(s) at The Purple StoreThe selected design(s) will be sold by The Purple Store, maintaining the same price as you offer for the same dress independent of The Purple Store. We will handle as many pre-sale questions as possible so you can focus on your business. We will process orders, keeping a $10 handling fee to cover our overhead plus a referral fee of 5% of the price (before your shipping and handling fees), so please keep the fees in mind when determining your design(s) pricing. The gown will be showcased among our Purple Wedding products and in our Purple Wedding Photo Gallery. If appropriate, the selected design(s) may also be featured in our Goth and Dresses sections. Photographs of selected design(s) may also be included in press releases and promotions about the contest winner and purple weddings. These photographs may also appear in bridal/wedding publications. Once customer payment is received and our fees are withheld, we will pay you in full and you may begin work with the customer on customizations and sizing.
