There\u00a0 are quite a few purple causes. \u00a0We appreciate the hard work of staff and volunteers with various events and organizations around the world that use purple as the signature color in their campaigns.\u00a0 Below are some we know of, and if you have others, please let us know<\/a>!<\/p>\n

\"Alzheimers<\/a>The Alzheimer’s Association<\/a> employs the color purple in all its campaigns. There are more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer\u2019s and as many as 10 million family caregivers. Find a Walk to End Alzheimers event near you at alz.org\/walk<\/a><\/p>\n

Purple Day<\/a> for Epilepsy Awareness is held in March every year to educate people about the real facts surrounding epilepsy. Additionally, November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span>. Epilepsy affects over 50 million people worldwide or approximately 1 in 100 people. That’s more than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s disease combined.<\/p>\n

Spirit Day<\/a> is\u00a0 an October awareness event promoted by GLADD, and is devoted to ending bullying of LGBT teens. The name, Spirit Day<\/strong> comes from the purple stripe of the Rainbow Flag<\/a>, defined by Gilbert Baker creator of that flag, as ‘representing “spirit”‘.<\/p>\n

\"PancreaticPurple is the signature color for the battle against pancreatic cancer. Many events raising awareness and funding for this cause take place around the world, such as Pancan’s Purple Ride<\/a>. November is pancreatic cancer awareness month. Purple Cake Day<\/a><\/strong> is an annual event held on March 1st to celebrate the children in our lives and empower them to help other children in need worldwide. Everyone, young and old, can participate–from schools to community groups, individuals and families–by creating fun ways to promote awareness of child poverty and encourage action.
